Comparing apples with Apples?

I'm working on a project that will be fun once it's live. Right now it's just work.

As I work I like to have the TV going.

I just saw an ad for a The Lord of the Rings chess set part work. After the initial taster price of not-much each piece costs $19.99 a pop. So, I figure...32 pieces...let's round it out to about $639 bucks for a chess set.

Board not included.

So.
Question:
Are you nerdier if you want a a LoTR chess set at over $600 or queue for an iPhone?
