Matching brand voice with blog voice

Mark Twain's birthday has been marked on the Peterman's Eye blog. I like Twain's wit. Also like the way Peterman's includes interesting news and relevant links to the subject of their posts. Nice use of a blog to promote a business - in perfect sync with the brand.

Some Twain quotes:

  • Always do right. This will gratify some people and astonish the rest.

  • I am opposed to millionaires, but it would be dangerous to offer me the position.

  • A lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes.

  • It is by the goodness of God that in our country we have those three unspeakably precious things: freedom of speech, freedom of conscience, and the prudence never to practice either of them.

  • The proper office of a friend is to side with you when you are in the wrong. Nearly anybody will side with you when you are in the right.

He's an interesting young man and his concerns about going forward in life are the anxieties we all face at crossroads in our lives when we are forced to make choices. Dan Pink's latest book The Adventures of Johnny Bunko: The Last Career Guide You'll Ever Need might help: "From a New York Times, BusinessWeek, and Washington Post bestselling author comes a first-of-its- kind career guide for a new generation of job seekers. There's never been a career guide like it.the fully illustrated story (ingeniously told in Manga form) of a young Everyman just out of college who lands his first job. Johnny Bunko is new to parachute company Boggs Corp., and he stumbles through his early days as a working stiff until a crisis prompts him to find a new job. St
